Co•School Leadership Development Programme
8 students from The English School are participating in a new type of Leadership Development Programme in Bogotá. In partnership with Universidad Los Andes, Co•School works with students to create student-led ‘real’ leadership projects, in which students develop their leadership skills over ten weeks, across five main areas – perseverence, self-evaluation, creativity, organisation, social intelligence. The group of TES students are designing and delivering a weekly extra-curricular ‘character club’ to 33 5th grade students from local public school, SaludCoopNorte. Every Friday afternoon the students can be found leading innovative outdoor activities in the pitches of TES. While the programme has a valuable impact on the local community and for the children from SaludCoopNorte, the focus of Co•School is in developing the leadership skills of the older students from TES. Through a combination of workshops from experts, formative feedback, and a course in Public Leadership in Universidad Los Andes, the students leave the programme better equipped for the leadership challenges that they will face in the future. Co•School have commented on the high quality and commitment of the TES students; well done to all involved.
